Dear "Glaydinites",

The countdown is now..... T minus 5 days and
counting. All systems are "GO" for the Launch of:
"Glaydin Reunion Y2K" (Except for the following
checkpoint):

Many of you have responded to the: "Are you
bringing food and if so what, and how much"
question by asking what is needed. I was totally
unsure as to how to answer that so I discussed it
with the "Head Coordinator", "Ms. Peggy", on ICQ
the other night. Her response was nothing less
than "Vague and to the point "........... =0) =0)
=0). Peggy simply said, and I quote (including
the happy face with no nose at the end) :

"Just tell anyone who asks, to bring whatever they
want to bring. Maybe they have a specialty they'd
like to impress us with. :) "

So........ I bring you a final quote from the one
and only "Peggy Sligh (O'Neill):

"Feel free to bring whatever you would like to
share with the group. Impress us all with your
culinary expertise."

I would add though..... If you are flying,
busing, or coming by train, please don't try to
bring "share food" for the reunion.

This could well be the last reunion at Glaydin.
Because as it now stands, 80 % of the property has
been sold to another organization. This leaves us
only 10 acres, 2 dorms, one small cabin and the
newer classroom building to continue on with. In
the future, these will all be fully occupied, and
used, by staff and students the year around.
There is presently some hold up on a tax form for
the sale to be finalized.

Subject: Reunion2000

From: Alan P Levy zekeman2@juno.com

Sorry that I have not posted yet but I guess my
navigator is not up to date and have been
traveling a lot lately. Tried to E-Mail Oshins at
his address in California and just got a return
mail. I had all my thoughts typed out about
Glaydin but was unable to have them posted, maybe
I'll send them to you if my other computer is also
out of date.

I am trying to attend the reunion but it is still
up to my company if they allow me to travel at
that time. Just got back from vacation a few weeks
ago so it may be a little hard.

Question?? I've talked to Tweedie and Bruce
Lindsay and I would like to know if we can camp at
Glaydin for the weekend. I'll most likely fly in
on Friday and Leave Monday. In 1970 we lived in
the cabin's just below the main house before Dick
and Barbara's dorm was finished. I thought it
would be nice for the gang and all family members
of Glaydin to once again hang in the woods for old
times. It would be nice to have the open fire
again with everyone sitting around and talking.
Have not had a response from the boy's yet so I
may only be me camping?

It's funny, I can remember and feel when we use to
have camp fires by the lake in the evenings and
just talk and tell stories. My favorite was the
"white lady" who use to walk the woods wearing
white in the summer and black in the winter. She
passed away in 1970, four of use including Brucy,
went to her house just before they tore it down
and walked through it. We were like children, as
we entered we all held hands and the only reason
was because it was her house and the sign read,
who ever tress passes will be cursed. Hand carved
sign! We each took a small item to remember, well
to say the least the next day each one of us
noticed that each piece was missing. I can
remember her house as if it was yesterday, on the
second floor was an organ, it looked like it came
from a church. The walls were covered with news
papers, layer after layer dating back to the
1920's. With this we assumed that it was for
insulating. After walking around for a while we
decided to leave, it was most likely pure fright.

Well I do not want to drag on, I felt that this
might be a good idea to help bond friendships with
old and new.

I've read all posting and would like to comment on
one, I will try to post asap.

GLAYDIN stands for all of us, this was told to me
when I first went to school,

George, Louise, Agnes and Youth!

Sincerely, (very proper)

Little AL

ATTENTION ! ATTENTION ! ATTENTION !

GLAYDINITES planning to attend "Glaydin Reunion
2000"

The brochure describing the events that are
scheduled for the Lucketts Fair, which is being
held on August 26 - 27 (Saturday & Sunday), has
finally been uploaded to the site (I just received
the brochures this morning and scanned them in) .

As most of you know by now, the fair coincides
with the "Glaydin Reunion 2000" event and is just
a little over a mile away from Glaydin. It is a
wonderful family oriented fair that is well worth
taking a little time to visit. You might want to
do it as a group event and invade the place =0)
:o)=

At any rate, here is the URL for the "Lucketts
Fair Page" on my site:

Ren Baker has kindly arranged with the current
owners of Glaydin to graciously allow us an entire
weekend to come together and celebrate the changes
that came into our lives from living, loving and

Mark your calendars and plan to be there the
weekend of August 25, 26 & 27

If you have contact with anyone from Glaydin that
has not been actively watching the Glaydin pages
please fill them in & you lurkers come on to the
reunion & show yourselves. If there are people
that you've lost touch with & would like to see,
try to search them out & let them know about the
reunion. We want to see as many people as
possible. Let's see what's become of us all.

It's been a long time since the people whose lives
have been touched by the experience of Glaydin
have gathered together. TOO Long! Let's DO
something about it NOW.
