Hey Gladiophobes and Gladibabies all, Just wanted to say what an
absolutely warm wonderful time it was at the Shindig on the
weekend of Aug 24th! There wasn't but two handfuls of people but
the food was great and the trees and the atmosphere were
perfect....it was so damn good to see you guys.

Kenny, looking good! Big smile Deal me in for the June Reunion,
we were talking about the out of towners and anybody who needs
crashing facilities when the spring thing happens can stay at one
of the local Glaydinite dwellings, my place included. We're
family, face it.

The old place needs some serious love, and you can see the signs
of the maintenance of those struggling few who have been giving
it, but still I found myself in a late seventies kinda gaze,
following my feet and eyes along those same old standing spots, a
ton of 24 year old memories beating a path to the front of my
mind.... wearing muddy boots. Seemed that the harder ones faded
into that laurel filled hill fog and the good ones came out with
the sun.

Thanks for sharing you guys. Wally, where are you?

From Gordon Jones

2002 Glaydin reunion Well The reunion was a success for those of
us that attended. The turn out was 14 former students and their
families. I think that the heavy rain in the morning scared most
of the people off that had confirmed that they where coming. but
it was fine and cleared up at noon and i fired up the grill and
people started filtering in. It turned out to be a great day. We
had a great time reminiscing over the year books and exploring
the vacant buildings.

Thanks to all those who attended: Peggy Sligh, Eve birch, Gay
Demarco, Ibby Acosta, Kenny Goldstein, Marc Chernoff, Lowell
Marshall, Garry Jacob, Danny Hurwitz, Terry Tanner,

For future reference the Lodge is still the center of campus
activities and any one going to Glaydin to check it out should
check with Ren Baker who lives in the last apartment all the way
to the left when standing in front of the lodge.

The state of campus: All most all the buildings are rented out as
apartments to people who have no real idea what Glaydin was or is
and no idea what goes on there! There are at least 3 sets of
tenants and their families living in the office building.

Agnes's cottage is rented out as is the directors house.

Georges house is being renovated.

The classroom building is in poor shape as the roof fell in
awhile back. there are plans to renovate it soon.

The first dorm on the right as you drive past the lodge has been
split in half. the left half is an apartment and the right half
converted into a chapel.

The next dorm is on the left has been renovated and is used by
the camp for housing guests with 19 beds available.

The next dorm back the lane is on the right and is being
renovated.

The next dorm back just around the turn to the left is on the
right and is rented out.

The last dorm at the end of the lane is being renovated.

From Peggy Sligh regarding an 2002 reunion,

The previously attempted sale of the property fell through, and
by some miracle and a hefty donation from some church somewhere,
the mortgage has supposedly been paid off. In any case, it is
still available for us to gather together at one of the most
healing places I know.

We've been tossing around the thought of another get together and
have decided to proceed. Hopefully more will attend, but
regardless of how many show I'm sure we will have a good time.
We are planning once again for the same weekend as the Lucketts
Fair, this year it falls on Aug 24 - 25.

E-mails will be going out to everyone within the week, and it
will be posted on Ren's site as well as classmates, etc.

Anyone who is interested in joining us can contact me, Gordon
Jones, or Ren at the following email addresses:
